hi,
unfortunately, that's not that simple:
openoffice programs are translatable, in the sense of displaying hebrew
menus, messages etc., but also dealing with bidirectional text
themselves, in the sense of editing an hebrew ( generaly, a
bidirectional text) document.
the hebrew package for ooo does provide string translations, documents
templates in hebrew etc. which may be used with the international ooo.
but to really deal with hebrew documents, a lot of work has been
invested in ooo at tkos, that ended up at most in patches appliable to
the international ooo releases (but take care they evolve :( ), and
binary packages distributed by tkos. again, here are a lot of changes to
the code of ooo.
but you still have the choice :) .
hope that helps,
alex
Post by ElanHi.
I've been trying to install the Hebrew language extension for the
default OpenOffice.org 2.04 on a Debian Linux based distribution. Can
anyone point me to the correct package name?
TIA,
Elan
